Roll of Honour
This is the Red or Dead? web site Roll of Honour, listing the
"nutters" who have already succeeded in parting us from
our cash with their own special Red or Dead? fundraising events:
• Thomas Farley
10-year-old Thomas completed a sponsored 10 mile walk from his
home in Christow to St. James' Park. He was greeted at the club
by two of his heroes, Glenn Cronin and Reinier Moor.
The three-hour walk raised around £800
after Thomas went round his village asking for sponsorship.
Top work little fella.
• Pete Williams,
aka Taff.
Shaved his curly locks for the first time since relegation.
• Adrian Hitchcox (1)
Massive balloon race which is still going on today thanks to Hurricane
Ivan.
The balloon race raised a grand total of £720.
• Lance Higgins
Emptied the contents of his beer jar and raised more then is healthy
for a man with a normal sized liver.
• Red Army (Junior
Supporters Club)
On Saturday 18th September, before City's match against Stevenage,
23 Red Army members took part in a sponsored walk to raise money
for their contribution to the 'Red or Dead' appeal.
They walked around the edge of the pitch for an hour and raised
over £800 in sponsorship. Some of the members helped with
a bucket collection at half-time which raised another £179.16.
With contributions coming in from members who are holding their
own walks, because they could not make it to St James Park on
the 18th, the Red Army will be looking at over £1,000,
which is absolutely amazing.
The Red Army handed over a cheque for £500 to fulfill the
Red Army's first pledge, and signed up for a second pledge, at
half time of the Braintree match on 30th October.
• Pete Bishop and
Mike Cooper
Leaving at sunrise and ending in deepest Gloucestershire, Pete
and Mike cycled, on a tandem, to City's away match at Forest Green
on Tuesday 21st September.
A fantastic effort!

the Barnet game.

This consisted of playing 51 games in a 5 and a half hour pool
marathon, a 50 length swim, a 59 mile bike ride from his home
to St. James Park for the Carlisle game and then a penalty shoot
out during half time of said match.
• Ladbrokes
Bookmakers (Exeter)
Ladbrokes handed over a cheque for £505 from the
race night held at the St. James' Centre on 23rd October. The
profits from the evening were split 50/50 between the Red or Dead?
appeal, and Vranch House School in Pinhoe.
• John
Hammett
John Hammett, the Chairman of the North Devon Grecians,
had his hair shaved off on 29th October at the Western Power Distribution
social club in Barnstaple. He is hoping to have raised about £420.
• Peter
Dunn, Andrew George and Barry May
Having attended the initial launch of the Red or Dead?
campaign, Peter, Andrew and Barry, got together and decided that
they would raise £1500 for the appeal by holding and attending
a number of car boot sales.
They are extremely grateful to the proprietors of McCawbers in
Whipton Village who allowed the use of the pub car park for a
car boot sale. The guy's also set up stall, red and white flags
and all, at the large car boot sale on Marsh Barton, where they
say they are amazed at the number of fans of Exeter City, as well
as those of Plymouth Argyle and Torquay United, that make a donation
to save Exeter City.
To date Peter, Andrew and Barry have raised £976 and when
they reach the £1500 will present it to Ian Huxham on the
pitch.
• Darren
Smith
Darren, from Dawlish, raised £460 by holding a
charity dance night on 30th October. More then 100 tickets were
sold for the event in Dawlish Warren when 60's tribute band, Carnaby
Street, provided the entertainment.
• David
Ellis
Young City supporter, David Ellis, celebrated his eighth
birthday on November 7th by raising money for the 'Red or Dead?'
campaign.
He swam (non-stop) fifty 25-metre lengths of his local swimming
pool in Leeds (for those of you working in 'old money', that's
getting on for a mile!).
• Adrian Hitchcox
(2)
Adrian organised a "Devon County Knowledge" quiz, consisting
of 50 cryptic questions, that all had answers that were names
of places in Devon.
The quiz raised £396.
• Barry Durnford
The 53-year-old life-long City fan tried to raise £500 for
the Red or Dead? campaign by being sponsored to have red and white
stripes dyed into his hair.
Barry's wife was not so keen on the idea though. "It's being
done using permanent dye rather than just being sprayed on, so
I'll have to keep it until it grows out," Barry said.
• Scott Arnold
Scott had ECFC tattooed on his bottom in the St. James' Centre
before the match against Leigh. Scott ran a campaign whereby he
invited others to vote as to whether the tattoo should be ECFC,
PAFC, TUFC, MUFC or CFC.
• Richard Hancock
Richard is a member of the Exeter City FC Executive Club and has
raised his £500 in a number of ways including saving up
a number of prizes he has won in raffles etc. He also had a little
flutter on Artic Jack at 16 - 1 in the 2.45 at Aintree recently
and the winnings boosted his Red or Dead? fund.
• Ganges Restaurant
The Ganges Restaurant, in Fore Street, Exeter, very kindly offered
the use of their restaurant for a Red or Dead? fundraiser. A great
offer from a long established Exeter restaurant! Tickets were
priced at £10 each. The day was a great success, and raised
£350.

Andrew organised a Pro-evolution Soccer 4 tournament, on the Playstation2,
which was held at the St. James' Centre on the 28th November.
